Inspired by glassware from the Mount Vernon Ladies Association’s Collection. The original glasses belonged to the Washington’s during George Washington’s presidency. George brought them to Mount Vernon when he retired from public office. The blown glass wineglasses are colorless, with tapered drawn stem, conical foot with faceted edge and a pontil mark. The engraving features a horizontal line and a zigzag line above; three rows of stars below.
